Exsposure 1/100, F16, Iso 800. Were these the right settings?

Thanks for looking.

Why did you choose such a high F number and ISO?? Not needed for this shot, epesically since the high ISO has caused noise in the picture. I am guessing the high ISO was to compensate for such a high F number and quick shutter speed.

You've got a lot of noise in them from shooting ISO 800. I'd have gone with a wider aperture. You're using a wide angle so the DOF would have been quite big anyway and I'd guess you could use somewhere around f8 and everything would still have been sharp. Then you could use a lower ISO as your shutter speed will increase.

As far as composition goes the 2nd is better but I think you were just there at the wrong time of the day. The shadows are too dark compared with the rest of the scene so you'd probably have been better off going somewhere nearer dusk for more interesting light. And think about a tripod so you can shoot at ISO 100.

Its was around 1pm and the sun was quite bright.
I may go back tomorrow and try again (bring me tripod to).
