Anyone know what the deal is with this? I'm tempted to sign up to it but not sure how it will affect my images that i have with Alamy (all of which are 'licenced')

Any advice appreciated

I've not any personal experience of this but I have read about it on Alamy. On the Alamy forums there does appear to be general concern about the lack of information that Alamy have provided about what constiutes Novel use.

One of the bigest concerns is that with the Novel use agreement Alamy have the right to grant a special licence for a small fee without consulting you, ultimately meaning that the price you get significantly reduced (especially as Alamy charge more % for the "admin" effort). Ultimately people are concerned about this being microstock in all but name. This isn't helps by Alamy who have done nothing to quell these fears.

If you do sign up and decide that it's just not right for your business you can opt out but only in a certain month of the year (IIRC it's April).

I suppose if you don't know about it you can't help :p

However, to enlighten you Alamy (http://www.alamy.com/)is a Stock Photography Website and "Novel Use" is a way you can agree for Alamy to sell your photos that is beyond the standard "Royalty Free" and "Licenced" methods they offer.
