I went to visit my little sister yesterday, and we decided to do some fun portrait shots along with some normal ones.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments, portraits are not really my strong point,
so any tips to improve will be gladly received.

Unfortunately I was limited with what light I could use, as the room was only lit by a couple of wall lamps, and then I had my desk lamp, but that's all I had to us. With it being pitch black outside (and we were in the conservatory) I think it may have hampered things a bit. I must do it again another time with some daylight to play with

Ok, first we have the fun ones

 They look great to me Jo, although #2 is maybe a little bit dark [levels adjustment possibly] and what a great model she is. With th elight you had they look really good. Mind you, dont take my word for it, I just put up a similar thread regarding my portrait efforts from yesterday too

Love her eyes in the 5th shot. Id be going for a real close up of those, great colour in there.

I agree with LL about the 2nd shot being a tiny bit dark but I also think that this shot (along with the 3rd) is the strongest shot of the set.
The other shots are nice but those two really carry an excellent sense of character & atmosphere. Very nicely done imo

Agreed, but I also like #5.

Thanks everyone :) If you hit F5 the second one should be a bit lighter now ;) Is that better?

Thanks for all your kind comments
