Hi,
On the back of my flash, for which I don't have the manual, is a small switch. Its not the on off but has a green dot ot one side and a 'flash' symbol on the right. The camera [400d] flashes in both postions but could someone tell me the significance of this switch please?
Anywhere I can get the set of words...?

Cheers,

Dunc

It's high-speed synch flash.

Basically means that you can use the flash with all shutter speeds (for those of us who have their cameras on Tv whilst using a flash).

Dunc,

I believe that it is for high speed sync. In the green position your camera will be limited to the maximum sync speed....this limitation will be gone in the override position.
See if you can up the shutter speed to 1/1000 in the green position...probably not.
