:)Hi all,

Pretty new to photography, went to France took some amazing photos, I have to say mainly by fluke, but they are lovely, so now I keep looking at everything thinking ooooh that would make a lovely photo.

However I do have a question:

When I was baby, my parents had some professional photos of myself and my brother taken, I would like to get a larger print of the photo for my brother for christmas, however the photo was taken in Cape Town, South Africa, who has died, so I have no way of getting a letter to let me get copies, is there anything I can do, any suggestions gladly accepted.

Many Thanks in advance

Ali :)

Welcome to TP Ali ...

You post is a little unclear ... Can you get a scan of the original photo?

Hi! and welcome, Do you have a copy of the photo? Scanning it would be my idea to get a copy done, then you can send it off to be enlarged. If it was taken a long time ago in another country you may not have an issue with copyright, As long as you are not planning on selling many copies? :suspect: :D

Hello :)

You could try taking a picture of the picture. Bit of editing and it could look quite good.

I agree with you Robert, with a decent camera the results can be quite surprising.
Ive done this on a few occassions now and have always been pleased with the results.

Hi Ali,

If you have a photo already, then I'm sure you'll have no problem getting it 'blown up'. There are a few ways to do it. either professionally or scanning it in, or even taking a photo of it like mentioned above :)
