It just crossed my mind that I was always more aware of things like competition threads on other sites I used previously.

Then I realised I rarely see the main forums overview page here. There is a 'home' link at the top of the page and that is where my bookmark is for this site. The home page helpfully gives me a 'new posts' link to click so I can see whats new. After checking out any threads that look interesting I'll reply or just go do something else and come back later.

I don't get to view the threads that have not moved unless I set out to do so.

I think the new posts link is counter productive for the site. It helps me but also guides me away from the rest of the site. Keep it but make it a link on the main forums page?

Maybe part of the reason competitions/ activities fall a bit flat sometimes? No bumps and they don't get seen. I spent a couple of days thinking 'public highway :Ponders: ' .It took typing this to remind me of it again.

This is where I find out I'm the only one using the new posts link :whistling

i have to be honest, i never use it, never have on any site i ever use! I know a lot of people do though.

I think really its up to myself and the rest of the admin/mod team to prod people about the competitions and the like, its not something i remember easily either

I use the new posts link and then the mark forums read link when I'm done, that way I only see new posts when I return.

Ditto - rarely use anything other than the New Posts link !

Unless there is a new post about comps etc., I would probably miss it ?

My bookmark is to the forum listing, and then the first thing I click is "New Posts"
, I then CTRL click each thread (to open each thread in its own tab in FireFox).
