I'm a n00b to the the camera world and thought I'd open up an offer to anyone that wants to have a stab at taking photos of a sport and environment which may be new/alien to you. I am the captain of a St.Albans underwater hockey club who train at two pools (in St. Albans and Borehamwood in Hertfordshire). I am hoping to take my own pictures of the players but I thought there may be other individuals out there that would like to take pictures too.

Underwater hockey is a fast paced, physical, adrenaline fulled game played on the bottom of a swimming pool where players compete to flick a lead covered puck into goals. Challenges from a photgrapher in this situation will be lighting conditions, colour, composition and avoiding bubbles ...

In many ways it could be portrayed as serene yet it could be captured in an extreme sports style. For more info suss us out here: http://www.gbuwh.co.uk/club.php?club_id=29

If anyone does get a good snap they wouldn't mind sharing on our website so we can advertise our club more effectively then this would be appreciated. Depending on how many people are interested I may have to spread you out.

Oh and if this is not in the appropriate forum ... I apologise! I'm new here.

Cheers,

Plugus

Hi Plugus Maximus.

Underwater Hockey - what a great (if somewhat weird) idea!
And a great opportunity for somene with the right gear to take some... er,unusual shots. I'm sure someone will take you up on it.

If this isn't the right forum (and I'm new to this too) I expect the admin people will move this to where it should be.

My two 4-year olds enjoy their own version of water polo in the bath with me as referee, audience and (often) target!

This is one of the best sports in the world! I used to play it whilst training as a lifegaurd, it's so fun, but also very tiring and the pucks hurt!:bonk:
