Hi all,
I need a bit of advise here, I have a 18-200mm Nikon vr & a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 (macro). What I want to know which lens would in your opinions be the better lense for "general" potrait shots?

Thanks in advance

I have always found a 135 to be "the best" for portraiture..... But out of your two mentioned lenses both might be used dependant on shooting conditions etc.

Both would do the trick given the "right conditions". I know the 18-200 is sharp and I imagine the f2.8 would help on the other lens.

Having said that a 50 f1.8 is a good cheap alternative.

However, for what it's worth a 135 prime would do it for me.;)

I would prefer my 70-200 over my 28-70, so in your case that equates to the 18-200 as the one I'd try out :)
