I'm considering one of those too. The D200 is very nice but I want the D300 now. I will retire my ancient D100 and D70 once I get my hands on a D300.

Not until I test one for myself, Digital Depot are holding a Nikon day on 8th December so hopefully I'll be able to take a few test shots then (I'll take my D200 with me and do comparison shots with the same lens and settings etc.)

I saw a pic somewhere of a guy playing a trumpet at a carnival that was taken with the D300 and super high ISO 6400 and i was actually blown out of my seat, ill see if i can find it..

Have you not seen the 40D, Mark III and IDS? All superb at high ISO. FACT.

Hmmm, 40d gets pretty grainy at 3200..

I dont see any grain on the Nikon samples!

even at 6400!

The 5D was good...but the D3 looks to be revolutionary, the high iso handling and dynamic range blows me away :o
