:bonk:Hi everybody,

I've just joined the community, prompted I must admit by the headaches I've had recently in trying to secure a new D80 based kit that is free from internal dust contamination. Am I alone in this, because all the postings I've read so far are just so nice and complimentary to everyone - including Nikon! Today I'm sending back the third body that I've had in as many weeks. With this one, I can see bits of something 'foreign' internally in the viewfinder eye-piece and shots of something bright and light like sky (!!) show several small dark shadows - even at around f5.6 with my VR 18-200 attached. Both other bodies I've had have shown similar problems and when I spoke to Nikon they said they wanted £26 + VAT to clean my brand new camera!!
Does anyone have any similar experience recently, or am I just expecting too much? What is reasonable on a shot as above, taken at say f22 when viewed on a decent PC screen?
In any case, a dissapointing introduction to DLSR photograhpy.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi

Bite the bullet and clean it, I have never had a camera come 100% clean when its new, more important to me is it works 100%, dont forget to clean the lens as well as that will hold dust that will migrate to the sensor when the camera is turned on

You should have no visible dust etc at f22 viewed on your PC at 100%
