View Full Version : Plant experts in here please :)
Hey guys, any chance of getting an ID on what plants the following two seed pods come from please? My botany skills are sadly lacking!

Many thanks!
I have seen these before but like you im no botanist. i think the second works well as a photo.
I feel sure I've seen that 2nd one before too. I've no idea what they are I'm afraid, I'm no gardener.
Boon is our resident flower/plant expert if he sees this he'll no doubt pop up. :)
Nice shots btw!
Thanks guys.
/drums fingers on desk impatiently awaiting Boon :p
When I saw the first pic I thought it might be a Foxglove seedpod.
2nd pic throws me totally.
The first definitely isn't foxglove, but I agree it does look kind of similar. They were pulled from a scraggly brown plant (I told you my botany sucked!) next to a lake.
The second I nicked from someone's garden, so it could be pretty much anything!

 ... we have policemen frequent this place you know! :suspect: ;)
Tbh, it might help if you hadnt shot them so they looked so artistically gorgeous!

Haha, thanks. It turns out the second shot is of bladder senna (Coletea arborescens), and the first is a member of the figwort family (which includes foxgloves, hence the similarity), although I've not been able to narrow it down any further.

Nice shots and #1 reminds me of The Little Shop Of Horrors
Yep... "Feeeeed Meeeee" :D
That 2nd shot really is a corker though.
