Uploading pics (too big)

Hi all,

This may be in the wrong place but thought i'd post it here just in case other newbies have the same trouble(I will understand if it gets moved) I've done a quick search of the forums but cant find anything.

Ok, I'm trying to upload some photo's(photobucket) but cant get em small enough ! they are about 240/250k after been resized, even the avatar was only 100x75 pixels when resized but still too large !:(

What do we need to do ?

I thought linking back to a hosting site would mean that size doesn't matter.:(

Avatars need to be 80 pixels square max and 20k max.

I'm assuming you are talking about showing pictures here at TP...
Pictures from external hosts don't have a file size limit but need to be less than 1024 pixels wide/high. You say 'upload' but you would normally link to the picture to show in a thread using IMG tags.
