Hey
Evening everyone. Sorry I’m afraid I’ve no idea how to put on a santa hat!!

These are a few of the 380 photos I took on my summer holiday this year – only a few, honest! I quite like them and I’d like to know what you think?

This is the bank in the little town I stayed in. Beats my local Natwest anyway…

A replica of the Alhambra Palace, but this one is actually in Mallorca

This was a replica of some other famous building, but I can’t remember what…

These were cute – a Seat owners gathering in the same little town square – there must have been about 60 of them just tootling around the minutely narrow streets…

A street!

Another view of our town square …

Some nice snaps there. All appear well exposed and have nice, vibrant colours. Well done:thumbs:

"Don't be too hard on me, I've only got a compact!"

Which is more than made up with by having a good eye. :)

To be honest none of these are outstanding, but none are bad either. They're very good record shots of some of the sights and scenes from your holiday. They've all got good composition, particularly 3 and 5 :)

The only critique I'd give is #2 needs to be rotated a wee bit anticlockwise, it's definitely not level ;)

I REALLY wish I could work out how to do that straightening up thing! I've tried and failed. Thought nobody might notice it ;)
Thanks both of you for the encouraging words.

Thought nobody might notice it ;)

You're kidding aren't you?

What processing software are you using, somebody's bound to be able to help :)

Irfanview and Elements 4. I've even got a book that I've already looked it up in for Elements. It seems simple but when I try to follow the instructions I seem to be options coming up that are not the ones I'm supposed to get, then I'm lost!
I think I'll have another try.
Strange thing is, I got a 10x8 print of this particular photo and it looks straight!

don't have elements but downloading the trial of 6 just now and I'll check it out for you. I'd suspect they work the same for that sort of stuff. Might be tomorrow now before I get a chance to try it though :)

is that any better? I'm getting a bit wonky-eyed now. You still out there Dod?!

Guess you are still out there, then! I think I've actually worked out what I'm supposed to do this time. It's only my eyes I'm not sure about now!

That's a good bit better, any more it's needing is literally just a smidgin ;)

What's happened to the sky in the first one? Have you changed it, looks like you missed a bit though on the left hand edge. Nice building though.

No. 4 is my fave too Ed. Something very 60's about it. I call it "Flower Power" (psychedelic colours, 60's registration plate, flower sticker on the boot, where (I think) the engine is).

And yes JPS i've painted the sky. I think the thing sticking out on the left is a lampost or something so as it's not sky it didn't get coloured! Yes I have a lot to learn about processing! I'll be working my way through this book I've got. Although I'm more interested in learning to shoot them better in the first place to be honest.
Thanks for looking.
