welcome to the forums :)
All of them would probably benefit from a bit more saturation and/or contrast.
Individually, #1 doesn't do much for me, just seems a bit empty.
#2 I really like, composition's fine, the notice makes you really look into the rest of the image.
#3 I like because of the composition and view, a nicer sky would have been better but you've got to work with what's in front of you :)

I'm curious about the 'Holy Ground' bit- tell us more?
I'm curious about the 'Holy Ground' bit- tell us more?
The first shot shows The Prince Albert's Own Leicestershire Yeomanry Regiment Memorial to "Soldiers Fallen in Battle". The plaque can be seen in front of it. The area around it is considered "Holy".
The memorial is situated on one of the parks highest parts and can be seen, on a fairly clear day, on the skyline from many miles away.
If you have never visited the park then I recommend it. The park contain ruins, a interesting water course complete with a small rocky waterfall, wooded areas, a deer park and many interesting rocky crags. Swithland Woods are next door and contain old quarry workings as well as normal flora and fauna. In parts they are overgrown and dark. The quarries in there are now fenced and naturally flooded and used by various clubs for scuba diving.
One a given day you would find many "togs" in the park.
Oh yeah - Admission is still free! :)

also the castle looking building on the hill next to the monument is known as an old john folly, which if i am correct it is what wealthy people would build in their grounds to show of their wealth. if any of this wrong please let me know as i am as good at history as i am on the pc .....
don't forget there are snakes in the park
I don't go anymore because the parking charge is absolutely ridiculous, I don't see why I have to dump that much money to park up for an hour while the kids have a run around. I always used to drop a quid in the honesty box when the parking was free but the get a ticket or get a ticket system is just another example of council greed because the park itself cannot charge entry (it was given to the people of Leicester).

I like the second one it's a neat idea and pretty well captured. the first and third could use a higher aperature so more of the scene is in focus particularly the third which could also do with a better sky but I guess we don't get to decide the weather!
See I told you this forum was a freindly one, glad you joined up now :)
He's my brother by the way :)

I usually use my bus pass to get to Groby and then walk over the fields to Bradgate. Used to bike it but the roads are too busy nowadays :(
