How do you view RAW files with Windows Vista, it wont view them and I cant find a patch on the Vista site.
Download and install this codec from Canon and you're in business :thumbs:

You mean seeing preview thumbnails when viewing a folder and Windows Photo Gallery? That's what the codec does....
If not, what's the name of the program that you mean by "windows own RAW viewer"??

I'm pretty sure (although I'd happily stand corrected) that the Windows plug in (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/raw.mspx) that allows you to view thumbnails of RAW files is only for XP and not Vista

I downloaded this sometime ago feeling quite excited BUT
it doesn't work with a canon 400D :(

The Canon viewer works for Vista thumbnails.
Works fine here with vista and 400d.
mircosoft have a raw viewer that lets u see thumbnails and open in picture viewer works with xp sure it must work for vista. works with cr2 files so should read 400d pics. hth

Ah right. I know what your saying. I cant get it to work with XP.
