im attempting to buy a frame for a peice of art work ive bought (a photograph from peter carr non the less) and im really struggling to find a picture frame for it, every internet site ive found wants rediclous amounts for packaging and handling and then they want £11 postage on top of that, cheaky blighters.

im after a nice black frame with a thick metal border on it,

any help would be great!

Try wilkinsons ! :)
Yes...I am not joking, we got all our frames from there, and they're not too "cheap looking" either...lol.

Lets just say my £3 frame has been highly admired this evening. lol

Your frame is bigger than £3 surely Del?

But yes, I've been impressed (in the back of Del's car no less) by Wilkinsons

BTW....what size frame are you wanting? Are you wanting it with or without the mount? Are you wanting black metal? Or Black wood, with metal?

*keeps it on topic* :p

50x40cm, no mount needed, id like something matt effect, so weather it is metal or wood isnt actually a problem, dont really want plastic though!

Thats the one that I have for £9 its really nice actually, and according to DD, it doesnt look like a £9 frame.
Have a look around and get down to your nearest wilkinsons! lol.
They are supplied WITH the mounts, but its easy enough to take out!

Do you have a local framing shop? There's one in Tunbridge Wells that I always go to if I need anything framed.

Of course, it helps that I have two mates who work there... ;)

Try the Range in Carlisle really good supply - Think they have a website as well, or try one of the many framers in Carlisle.

http://www.therange.co.uk/icat/drawmaterials - not a good website, but the store is open late

Some of the Wilkinson frames are very good for the money, silver ones are plastic & easily scratched etc - they also do a "solid wood" frame for £9, for some reason its not on the website but available in both of the stores I've visited
