Not a sport that gets the biggest amount of coverage here in Finland and even less in the U.K from what I remember.
Although in Norway (where my wife is from) it is a BIG sport..

Anyways, went to photograph for Team Finland tonight in their friendly against Norway. Took the official team photo for them, just have to process it and send it to the team.

But I put some snaps of the game to my website -

I hope that works, if not. It is www.googabuphotos.com and then the Events in the Gallery..

I'll put a picture of two here to this forum as well, but please feel free to go and visit the website as well. And anyone who likes sports photography, I do recommend you find your local handball team and go and take some pictures. It is a great 'photo sport'.

Now, for those who managed to read through all my c**p, here are the pictures.

I hated the fact that even with 70-200 IS L, I had to crank up the ISO to 1600. And that does show in the pictures. It is just that the players movements were so fast that anything less, it would not do.

Consider that to the Basketball pictures, same arena, I could use even ISO 400 to some shots... what a difference.

But I suppose the IS doesn't stop the movement.. just steadies the lens..but all in all for my first attempt at handball, these are OK snaps.

Comments, as always, welcome!

number 2 would have been stunning if the goal was included. Think you've got a good starting point there and the high ISO doesn't detract too much! Nice one

:agree: yeah dont worry about the ISO its the action that counts.

I saw some handball on TV a few weeks back. Amazingly frantic action. You did well!

Agree that no one will notice high ISO when the action is captured well - like you have.
