Nice set. Its funny, but on here and on 'American' forums, to me Ice Hockey images just lack something. Its not a slight on your work but they always seem to lack dynamism in general, despite it being a fast, visceral sport.
You could say that they leave me cold....ahem, I will get my coat :)

These weren't taken behind the boards were they?
Good images - especially like the "slapshot" on pic 5.
I agree with Diego though these are very clear shots but i can't remember any good iconic hockey pics. Not sure why. - (Even the shots of me being carried off with an badly broken ankle - from the local newspaper - dont fully capture the action)
Cheers Ally.
LOL Pete it was a bit fast for me at times :)
Yes behind Plexi glass (dirty and scuffed) Keltic Ice Man.

very well done then under those conditions - I thought you might have got on the "unprotected" bench.

"Snaps"? I don't think so! Great set, clear, colourful and showing tension in the first few and good emotions in ths last!
Fish eyes good as well!
Nice set!
I had a media pass but didn't get on the bench......didn't fancy it either :)
Thanks Dark Star

Great set, WB is spot on.
As to ice hockey in general lacking that something, I know what you are saying but is it possibily that most shots are taken from the same angle. Not a sport you can get in close to with a short lens nor get that upward shooting angle.
Great shots looks really clean what iso were you using?

I was using iso 3200 and just ran them through Noiseware Pro.
Yes Del all taken down at Ice Sheffield :).....I take it you're still shooting down there?
OMG, these shots are awesome, really awesome. Can't believe the quality and clarity of them. Well done.
Now you have mentioned noiseware I can see they have been processed but I didn't notice it at first look - just nice clean images
Thanks Beth

I was hoping to purchase a 1DMKIII but will stick to using noiseware for now......at least until the AF issues are sorted ;)
