Well, i'm still a young 'un in terms of cars, so here is my list:
- Seat Ibiza Mk1 1.5 GLX (very quick for a first car, looked great, interior was full of hay(!))
- Renault 19 1.4e RN 5 door (known as the "Family saloon" - not very trendy, but was comfortable and had a lot of kit)
- Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16V (burnt orange with GT anthracite wheels - had a K&N filter that made it whistle when I booted it. Great fun)
- Renault Megane Coupe 1.6 16V Monaco (top spec, leather, CD changer, air con etc. Done me proud for 2 years, will be selling up in january)
- ....Who knows? Will be buying something in the new year. Probably a turbo diesel, probably a VW (unless I get a pay rise!)

A short list for 20 years driving :Ponders:
Suzuki GSX 125 - prior to passing car test but great fun on the farm when I was living in Linlithgow
Vauxhall Cavalier
Series 1 Landrover LWB - great for cruising around town with the lid off :nut:
VW Polo Coupe (wifes car)
Vauxhall Vectra 1.9TDI estate
Ford Escort 1.8 (wifes car)
VW Passat 1.9TDi
Ford Focus 1.4CL (wifes current car)
Audi A6 2.4 V6 with the lazyboy 6 speed auto (current car)
Driven hundreds of others through work but nothing particularly memorable. Mind you I'm now pretty much of the view that a car just needs to be reliable, comfortable and fast enough to get me from A to B and back again whenever I want. Must be due for a mid-life crisis and an impractical sports car soon though :D
VW Golf 150bhp TDI. I had it chipped to 190bhp and it is pretty rapid now with excellent economy.. :thumb:
How did that affect the insurance?
Must say I've been tempted by the chips for the 330D - I'm probably being greedy because it's 204bhp as standard but then I've seen both 240bhp and 260bhp chips

How did that affect the insurance?
The chip is un-detectable from the outside because it basically Re-Maps the ECU from the serial port on the dashboard.
The car has been for its annual service at the VW main agent, They plugged their laptop into it to erase the warning lamp about its service and it was not detected at all.. :whistle2:
I havent been in touch with my insurance about it as yet.. :embarasse
:(...think they could check ECU if involved in accident. They'll do anything not to pay out.

in order...
1976 Rover P6 2200sc, almost mint condition, done about 50miles in the past 11 years, i inherritted this car when i was about 12 after restoring it with my grandad. still got it in my grans garage :)
1979 mini clubman estate 1098cc bog standard in russet brown
later morphed into a 1300cc tuned, lowered, wide arched 70's wagon, that got loads of attention everywhere, mostly for the paintjob, who in there right mind would put a gold pearl flip in brown paint?? (actually looked superb). ive still got it, in storage, im sans garage and its in need of a complete rebuild, might try to put a civic typeR engine into it.....
now onto the boring cars
-1987 mini city, in white, got written off by some boy racer tanking me up the back
- another mini city in cherry red, more rust than steel, hit the scrapheap
- yet another mini (1988 advantage), in white again, was a totally liability, it broke down at the thought of rain, the windscreen wipers fell off, it leaked more than a seive..
- 1995 Rover 100 kensington SE , utter bargain, got given it as an mot failure, got it through its mot for £50, got 2 years motoring out of it, before the engine blew up!
- 2005 Ford Focus 1.8 zetec, boring! too slow, i need something quicker! but its good on the motorway
in this order:
• Nissan Tsuru 1987
• Opel Corsa 1994
• VW Pointer GTi 2002
• Renault Clio RS 2003 (actually this is my car)
• Renault 5 TL 1980 (I get this one just for fun, I just sold it a few weeks ago)

i dont drive yet :( but i will be in 8 months :) and i already know my first car is a land rover defender :)
How come no one here has ever had a land rover???
I passed my test nearly 10 years ago and only had two cars :)
Would never personally have a land rover after watching driving me crazy the other week about them and the pollution compared to other cars and the damage they can do to others in an accident. Took the whole other car out when crashed sideways other people wouldnt stand a chance, but thats just me. I think they are ok on farms and places like that, but each to their own :)

How come no one here has ever had a land rover???
A fellow Nikonista had one till recently. Always had them, then, coming back from shops in Devon, doing 30 due to a speed camera on that stretch of road, had a tyre blow out, skidded up curb, hit the sign telling you there was a speed camera, and rolled it.
Every panel bent, though chassis still beautifully intact, and he the g/f of 20 years escaped with just minor bruises....they got married a couple of weeks ago, having been made painfully aware of their own immortality. HE is ow looking for a nice diesel car with ABS and traction control ;)

Very boring list I'm afraid.
Y Reg Ford Fiesta Popular Plus in a ****** gold colour.
J Reg Fiat Uno, worst car I have ever owned.
L Reg Renault Clio, liked it but got bored.
M Reg Ford Fiesta Si, looked great but ate petrol and was expensive for parts, silliest purchase I have ever made. Bought from the garage I sold it to by an 75 year old lady who liked the power steering. No wonder it never did my street cred any good.
P Reg Vauxhall Corsa. Only had 2500 on the clock when I bought it at 2.5 years old. Now has 163,000 on the clock and is the best car I have ever owned.
I can still remember all the registration plates of all these cars as well, how sad is that.

1.1976 rover p6 in lunar grey- lovely condition, still sat in the garage.
2.1976 mini clubman estate in brown, wrote it off but rebuilt it with a 1275cc engine, alloys, nice arches, pearl paintjob, and custom interior, still sits on the drive after i blew the engine up.
3.white 1988 mini city, did me proud til someone whacked me up the arse and shortened it by 3 inches for me
4. brown 1988 city, was a great car, crabbed a little but nethertheless was a great car, got me everywhere finally ripped it to bits when it rotted uncontrolably, still got half the bits in the shed
5. white 1989 mini advantage, dogshit car, useless in the rain got me to work for about 6 months once the clubman blew up, i think its still sat on my mates drive but its technically scrapped
6. 1994 rover 100, did me proud but 90mph runs up the motorway and very little oil meant its poor big ends went POP!
7. 2005 Ford focus 1.8zetec, 29k in less than 15months now!

Fiat Tipo (250,000 trouble-free miles) - eventually had to get rid due to rust
Peugot 406 (170,000 miles) - I keep 'em a long time ;)

Yamaha RD400 - wheelie machine - loved it :D
Suzuki GS550 - 1st 4T bike - loved it. Many, many miles :)
Yamaha RD400 - I just had to get another - this time with the full Stan Stephens tune ;) , rearsets, clipons, fairing, paintjob etc. Unreliable, but when it did go - WOW
Aprillia RSV1000 Mille - beautiful Italian beast, awesome :woot:
KTM450 'crosser - tried to kill me on several occasions
BMW R1150GS - very big, very ugly, very comfy, VERY big smiles :D

A fellow Nikonista had one till recently. Always had them, then, coming back from shops in Devon, doing 30 due to a speed camera on that stretch of road, had a tyre blow out, skidded up curb, hit the sign telling you there was a speed camera, and rolled it Ouch! i'm only getting one so i can use it to tow the boat and go off-roading, should be a chance for some good pics :P but a defender is a car you can rely on, they can go most places.
The fuel economy is ok, 28mpg, but spend a bit of money getting newer parts and that'll go up. Plus if i have time i might try using home made vegatable fuel, that'll be a laugh, and i'll be helping the environment.

Out of those the spitfire was my favourite, when it actually worked. Nothing quite like the wind in your hair throwing it around the corners of a country lane.
The 5 series was the most refined, I'd still like to own another one but these days I'm a reformed character these days and go for rather more sensible cars which are kinder to the environment. Also I live in a city and the polo is just so much easier to nip about in and get parked. The polo only gets used once every couple of weeks for the shopping at the moment although for a car of its size it has exceptional handling characteristics, feels almost as solid on the road as the bimmer.

Not a long list considering I`m 32.
1982 Ford Escort Estate. Old banger that I nearly crashed down a 20 foot embankment and was only stopped but a concrete roadsign!
1986 Ford Orion, bloody good car that was owned by an old lady. It had 26,000 miles on the clock and was like new. Unfortunately some scum bag poured paint stripper over it outside my house one night.
1987 Ford Fiesta XR2, the stereo was worth double that of the car.
1993 Honda Civic, still got that one although it`s been laid up for eighteen months now.
1992 Suzuki GP100. Rarr feel the the power of the 100cc engine!
2001 Aprilia RS125, deresticted. Owned from new. Decent bike, still got that.

Scary though, just tried to work it out and think i've had 30 cars in 20 years.
Pick of the bunch:
- Fiesta RS Turbo (bought from new fully loaded)
- Escort RS2000 4x4
- Mondeo ST220 (black with red leather)
- Focus ST
my list, boring though because i refuse to pay stupid amounts of insurance:
f reg uno(first car, paid £600, then another £400 for repairs and tyres etc.. wrote it off two weeks later, DOH!:bonk:)
another f reg uno 900cc( just came up at the time, took it up the lickey hills with a 3 other people, 2nd gear 10-15mph all the way, not good)
h reg pug 205 1.1
j reg escort 1.4LX (brothers old car, this thing was jinxed, but not written off amazingly!)
y reg renault megane coupe(first new car, really liked it)
03 ford ka(big step down, small and tinny, but lost bout £200 over the year so cant complain)
04 ford fiesta 1.4(had to get a bigger car to fit the pushchair in)
53 zafira(must learn contraception, 2nd kid, along with bruv in law to cart around)
i have a photo album of all my cars. just put the latest in there yesterday as i just sold one and bought another.
