Canon's 18-55mm IS lens

Now i don't really need this lens but after reading countless reviews from sites and people on how good this lens is im now tempted to get one myself and give it a try.

So to help me make my purchase does anybody have this lens and took any pics with it if so could i see them please.

I've heard good things about this lens as well but like you already own the 17-40 L which fills that focal range so didn't seem much point in purchasing it. The 17-55 IS f/2.8 is a better alternative to the 17-40 L but with a similar (relatively) price tag.
