Just messing about today with the Tamron 70-300mm.

I quite like the image. I would have liked to have seen it on a plain white background [but we all cannot have everything. lol]
I think the image could benefit from a crop, and maybe being lightened in levels and perhaps a bit more saturation.
Or another idea is to selective colour just the two pencils which are in focus?

Just ideas :)

i did something similar a while back, think using 1st pencil as focus piont works better

This shot must have been done a gazillion times, but there's nowt wrong with that, it's a useful exercise in colour and DOF. I suspect this was shot on a white bg with a wrong wb setting under tungsten light, with the result that you've lost all the potential zingy colour and the shot looks a bit drab and lacking in contrast.

I had a quick play with it and adjusted the colour balance and levels a touch but it's nowhere near as good as if you'd got it right in camera.

Its only cos I was having a play about with the image, but didnt sumbit anything on here for comparison, cos I didnt have the time to do it neat/well...lol
