How did you do the sky, it looks sort of IR but not quite:thinking::shrug:

It doesn't really work for me. You've got this great landscape behind and you've focused on a big chain. I'm not too sure on the processing either as it might be a touch too strong.

It doesn't work for me either but for a different reason. The main subject, the chain and bollard, is great. But the background is too intrusive. Crop the distractions and you have a great photo. The sky's good though- ideally you should have angled to include sky and the chain/bollard. Not easy I know!

first of all thanks for the comments, at least the shot has provoked some interest....my intention was to show this town has a shipping history as well as show some of the backdrop to the area. The shot is also about texture, the weathering on the bollard, chain and concrete and the beautiful afternoon light. Pete the processing could be a bit strong, I might have gone overboard in an effort to give more depth.
