Can you link to the original thread about your inspiration for this series? Cant find it. I think you mentioned you were adopted?

Oh Pete! I like this one! :)
Very close and hard hitting. Could almost be some kind of advert.
BW suits it superbly well!

Gets my vote Mr Carr!! Well done.

I think I like it more cos its out of your comfort zone, and its not a building and its not HDR'd to buggery! lol

A powerful start to your series Pete. I think it's good to have personal projects like this and I'm looking forward to seeing the whole set.

As discussed on Irc - I like this one, but I was left with the same question Sheep put forward - "I assume its your hand" - nothing shows me it is your hand. I might have liked it to be on your chest for example and then a chest and head shot, or on your head.

Or if it is on the hand, to show the lifeline - then perhaps your head slightly oof in the background.

But all this aside - I like the way it is outside of your comfort zone.

Intresting, clever and well thought out shot pete

You have wrote the letters M, N and A on your lifeline,
the letters M and E on your brainline,
and the letter T on your loveline.

So what you are telling us all,
is that you are a man,
who knows he is intelligent,
and fancies the pants off some woman beginning with T

:lol::lol:

Am I right?
Or shall I get my coat? :coat:

BTW nice idea and look forward to the others

Could of you of done a macro of yourself In the background but your whole hand showing the same message? Like your body standing In the Image but the lens focuses mainly your hand with that message.

Or yourself In the Image with this message on a spare blank white t-shirt just looking.

Something to show the man behind or who the photos are on about?

I do like your 9 months Idea and look forward to the next months.

Like what you have done, very bold and straight to the point. I don't think you could have nailed it more.

This is no affront to people's comments above, but surely, given the nature of Pete's project it is like closing the gate after the horse has bolted. I don't think these are pictures he can go back and re-compose, whatever he decides to present has to stay?

This is really a fait de compli, is it not? (Apolgies for my french, if it's wrong :))

I like the idea....Should have written it on your chest or head though :D
I also like Tsukiyomi's idea...a little cliche'd I suppose, but a good idea.

I know it's a break from your comfort zone..but you couldn't resist the vignetting could you :p

Looking forward to the rest.

Yup totally. Not really after suggestions of how to make it better because it has to be shot on 1 day.

Yeah a bit too cliched. This probably is still a fair bit but hey :) I'll be using my normal processing techniques, but its the content that will be different. I hope.

I don't think anyones expecting you to go out and shoot again, merely offering what they might do differently, their view on things, thats what this forum is all about ;)

Yeah don't worry. I get that :) Just with some people offering tips it seemed a little pointless :)

I agree with the cliched bit, It sounds like a typical Idea but this doesn't show yourself In the shot.

People will know It's you though I guess.

Nice shot though and vignetting makes It more godly.

Hmmm...interesting. I'm in half a mind not to comment as I know what this is about and it's more than just giving us a universally appealing photo.

But...I know what the story behind the photo is. If I try to put that to one side I don't feel I get the story from just that photo as it looks a little out of context on a palm. The palm, and a very nice palm it is too, doesn't say anything about being an accident or not. As part of the rest of the series, well, I'm looking forward to being challenged! Maybe it'll all fit. I'm not trying to offer advice for a re-shoot but just an honest opinion of what the photo says to me.

If nothing else the photo is a success as it's got us all talking (or typing if you like).

I get what you mean, but as a series I feel it'd work. If you know what its about etc.

But will you be posting them all in one...to show the set too? ;)

I might.

I like the first shot, and yes it might be a touch cliched, but I think it would probably fit in really well as part of a series.

Interesting project. It's obviously very personal and important to you and hope it helps you to overcome your troubles. Really looking forward to seeing the next 8!

I am a little confused. People have said that the palm doesn't show who it is - but the palm like finger prints is unique to each person. So way i see it a statment about you on a part of your body unique to you, spot on pete.

I know! ... I didn't get that either, what could be more ideal, not only the prints but the heart line, life line and that whole package as well...then theirs the whole write it on your hand in biro so as to remind yourself of what your reminding yourself of bit...and then put that together with Pete's concept of what hes trying to acheave... brill.

Next shots going to be the difficult one .. ;)

I think two of you misunderstood me, I didn't mean the shot above was cliched, I meant Tsukuynomi's idea of pete in the background, hand in the frame, was a bit cliched :)

Keltic Ice Man

I didn't realise that palm prints were unique to everyone - so I take back my comments.

I still think this is a good shot, just hadn't totally understood :bang:

Oh? I thought everyone knew that. Its how palmistry works as everyone has a unique life line.
