A set taken the past few mornings whilst walking the pooch in the forests hereabouts. It's amazing what people will chuck away isn't it?

Not keen on the HDR look to the old van but they are still 3 very good shots.

Like the composition of the boat shot.

All good as usual- but no. 1 is my fave- I love pictures of old, derelict stuff!

Well spotted and nicely captured, Le Chant, despite the attempted camouflage. :D

What's the wierdest thing anybody else has seen on walks with their camera?

Probably this:

Looks like we stumbled across the scene of an illict rave or somthing in this old quarry. Complete with scaffold stage and an old cable drum for topless pole dancers. Guess I was a bit late getting there!

Go back & nick that cross member for the lighting rig, they're worth a fortune! :) <- illicit rave smilie!

Oooh rotten old rusty things... First and third for me, especially the third for comp.

Ahhh- love the first one! Wow, that colour is very pretty on the van, and it looks so 'peaceful!' The sinking boat is a real winner too...very calm and serene.

What settings was your cam on for the first and second pic? xxx

Thanks for the thumbs up! Settings as follows:
1. 18mm. f5.6, hand-held at 1/3 sec. ISO 400.
2. 31mm. f5.6, hand-held at 1/6 sec. ISO 400.
3. 18mm. f3.5, 1/250 sec. ISO 100.

All hand-held as carrying the tripod with the dog pulling like crazy on the lead's not good for my temperament. She's let off only when we get into the forest. I may go back with the tripod to get some HDR shots of the cammionette, as I think it's just so pretty.

I work in RAW format, usually on aperture priority, manual focus. No HDR at all on any of the shots, they're straight from the camera with just a little saturation (up to 10% only), and a little work with shadows/highlights in CS3.

Thanx for the comeback, I'm amazed at how clear and crisp the shots came out if the shutter speed was only just 1/3! - very little cam shake it looks! xxx

The lower shutter speeds are easier at wider angles, to be fair. Plus I've learned to press the shutter at the top of my breathing cycle to minimise cam shake. That and holding the arms close to the body helps too.
