View Full Version : My first pictures for this board
Ok, so bare with me, I've only just joined.
This is a picture I've taken on my new camera (canon G9)
It was taken inside the St. Albans Abbey, where we (our family) do a traditional walk round every Boxing Day

I like it, but not keen on the sign with the red border! It ruins an otherwise lovely scene.
It's a super capture - and I see what you mean EdinburghGary - it does 'hurt' that side of the image.
I love the peaceful feeling from this photo...
Well done - as I know you are just starting out doing your photography.

Agreed, recrop without the sign and I think it would look much better.

I like the fact the signs there maybe you could turn the red saturation down ?
just an idea
great show though love it.

Good shot, agree that a crop to take out the sign, but otherwise a good photo.
I've finally recropped the image!

is that better?

yes Hannah big improvement.
Great - well done, that works much better
Remember - you can always crop those little 'nasties' out of a pic ! :)
I've got to say, I do prefer the cropped version, the pillars on the right were also a bit distracting.
Hope you don't mind but you had the edit box ticked so I had a little play, I've just sharpened it a bit and "warmified" it. You might think it looks poop though

Has it been oversharpened now looks a bit grainy?
I like the Kelack rework, but something in between that and the original would be spot on.
Kelack's shows a bit more background detail which I like, and the orignal lacks.
Possibly did get a bit enthusiastic with the sharpening methinks. Thanks for the comments though
