I bought myself the full series of "One foot in the grave" for myself at Xmas and today I took back 3 light bulbs I bought from Homebase because they have all popped in a ceiling light fitting I also bought from them 6 weeks ago.
Mrs Galaxy refused to come in the shop with me.
They were screw fitting at £2.99 a pair:eek:.

Ps. yes I got my money back and without a receipt .

You better believe it!!!! I have often thought of writing a book on experiences I have had in returning faulty/not fit for purpose goods and also the poor service industry in this country.
In fact I believe I have already turned into Victor when I think of the number of substandard restaurant meals I have not been afraid to complain about. Wish I had a pound for every cup of luke warm coffee I have refused to accept.

Yours Victor:)

If the bulbs are continually popping, check your wiring/the wiring inside the fitting.

Wiring is fine, just think they were rubbish Chinese bulbs, branded Homebase. I did notice the metal screw on those I returned were different in colour to the ones they had in stock yesterday and the packaging was changed.

A couple of years ago Homebase had a big issue with faulty bulbs popping while in the fitting. One of them popped and dropped its front glass on our carpet which burned a whole through to the underlay!

Homebase replaced the carpet and pulled the whole stock of bulbs in our store.
