Hi

These are the first pics I have posted on the net. Please offer any constructive criticism as this is the first time I have used a wide angled lens and the first time I have ever shot any pics that are not family snaps.:)

constructive criticism eh, well, the only way you'll learn is by knowing where you are going wrong, as well as what you are doing right, so i'll let you know both in my opinion...

Exposure seems pretty much fine on most, maybe even a little bit underexposed (it may be my monitor as it's new and i haven't calibrated it). Composition on the most part is 'alright', maybe it's just the subject i don't like, however i quite like the last image and the square framing of it. the shadows of the sculpture lead nicely to the building in the distance. The rest though i don't find i want to look at for long as mentioned earlier (subject)

I like #1 and #4.

The colours are good in the first shot, although the shot could have been improved by taking it from a different angle so that you didn't have the building in the background.

I like the angle and quirky feel to #4 - made me smile :)

Thanks for looking.

I agree Wez, after looking at them they are a little boring. They interested me I suppose because I took them! But later on and I agree, the subjects are not strong.

I was well pleased as they are the first pics I have taken that I thought about instead of engaing auto and snapping. I will have a think about locations etc and return!

Cheers.

ps are they under-exposed? They look fine to me on my monitor, but I may have set it up wrong.

I really like where you are going with these, and I like the well saturated colours.

Perhaps try a wider DOF more. particularly the last two, I would have liked most of the scene to be in focus.

Next time you are there, check out Heros de Lumiers, it's one of the most photogenic sculptures in the park.

I have a couple of this statue on my website (link at bottom of post) in the Yorkshire Gallery , if you need a reference.

Please go back and explore further, you have a good eye :)

Hi

Les I have just looked through your gallery:thumbs:.

Your colours are amazing. The photographs jump off the screen. Your pier shots blew me away.

IMO best photographs I have seen. A real inspiration, however it just shows me how far I have to go!!

Cheers
