First animal pics

It was quite sunny this morning so I decided to go out camera and all and see what I could capture in my local park. These are my first pictures of animals taken close up with my compact digital and on the manual setting.

I prefer the 2nd pic, the head is very sharp, but the feathers on the back of the bird are a little blown out.
