The colours in #1 are superb, I'm not sure about the composition but I do like that it is very central on one hand and the other wants the head to be to the left a little. Anyway I think they are gorgeous.
Thanks for the input and kind reply..much appreciated..I did try a crop to put the head over to the left more but was too much empty space on the right..I know it goes against the thirds rule but I think I prefer it like this.

I know it goes against the thirds rule but I think I prefer it like this.
I'm not so sure it offends the rule as much as you think. There are some good diagonals going on - especially NW - SE. I tend to agree that the crop's a bit tight.
But all of that's just picking hairs out of a hairy thing.
Now go off and shoot some motorsport or something.
Stunning shots mate,
1&2 are my favourite.

I love number 1, would prefer it if the bottom of his coil wasn't cut off so you could see the whole curve.
Another Great set Stuart!
The Indian ( Burmese) just has the edge for me

:agree:
But then I love the detail of the water and the eyes are just mezmorizing, love it.
Thanks all..the eyes were what I wanted everyone to focus on..they are almost hypnotizing!..
The Burmese is actually a dwarf form, they haven't been bred to often over here but a few people are working with them..they max out at about 8ft...but nearly all the ones in captivity are nasty as hell when compared to normal burms which are on the whole quite docile.

Very sharp images. Well done. How were these lit?
I love the green tree python. (I hope that's what it is!)
I'd really like to photograph one of these. I just need to find someone near me that has one and wants some photos taken of it.
Thanks Jay..first is a GTP second is an emerald tree boa..they make great subjects..where are you based?..by the way lighting was just a nikon sb600 nowt fancy

I'm near Dartford in Kent.
Shame you weren't closer i know a few people that keep them. There are a few reptile shops around kent I believe..maybe worth contacting them and asking if you could take some shots.
