The policy is (quite handily) that the photographer is given full credit and that CROWN COPYRIGHT RESERVED or similar is used with the byline. On a MoD site, many users will already know that 'Cpl Rob Knight, RLC' will be a military phot.
In civvy publications we usually ask for just 'Rob Knight' and the copyright notice, but often I only get the name and sometimes not even that.
Since the images are pooled and are free-for-use, there's no way we can police it really and have to rely on the dilligence and goodwill of the sub-editors.
