Seeing as the weather is so goddam awful, I decided to start trawling through my images and sorting them out :gag: And came across this one I took at Bolton Abbey in the Autumn..

The sky, the texture in the stones, the reflections..

Great picture, although it's a shame about the sun being so bright, the sky looks very striking.

I agree with Rob - the textures and 'feel' of the shot are great but that sun is just a bit to 'loud' for me!

Otherwise a corker :D

Yes lovely, but pity about the sun - I have an action (blown hilights) on my web site you may find useful to reduce the effect.
Can I suggest that next time you bracket evening shots, so that you can merge in the hilights if necessary.

Thanks for the comments, unfortunately you can't auto bracket on the D40X! Will hve a look at you site and get back...

Striking shot with a dramatic sky. Although sun is a bit bright love it's reflection in the water. Like the way the water leads you into the scenic view of trees. Good shot :thumbs:
