View Full Version : Canon today has released new firmware for the EOS 1D MarkIIn

This firmware update (version 1.0.2) includes the following improvements:

1. Fixes a file-numbering error that occurred during Bulb shooting.
2. Improves the brightness of the LCD monitor.
3. Fixes mistakes in the Russian-language MENU displays.


This firmware update applies to cameras with firmware version up to 1.0.0 installed. If your camera's firmware is already version 1.0.2, it is not necessary to perform this update.

That has to be one of the most minor updates in the entire history of firmware.

Edit: cheers for the news though. Didn't mean to sound ungrateful.

It's hard improving perfection ;)

I know what you mean but the file numbering issue could be major for some.

Really? Cos I'd reckon that having a brighter LCD would be handy when you're drunk. Plus your ability to speak Russian is probably at it's peak (they did invent vodka, after all) and as for the bulb shooting... Well it'll probably take your eyes that long to focus after a few bevvies.

Actually, the screen is already adjustable to ridiculous levels of brightness, I'll have lost my ability to speak Russian in the morning anyway, so the only possible issue is the file numbering error in 'B'.

Nikon got it right before they released it to the public - nothing like doing R&D on an unsuspecting buyer..

Nikon got it right before they released it to the public - nothing like doing R&D on an unsuspecting buyer..

Or having batteries that could potentially explode :whistle2:
