Just a quick self portrait while testing my new SB600 flashes. the brollies have arrived as well, but not the stands so I was having to hold the flash and brolly in one hand while pressing the shutter with the other. Quite pleased with how it came out though from a simple and quick setup. :)

Looks good :) Did you use a wall for the background or something else? Also you look a lot different to your profile picture on deviant art!
Yeah must admit!, your beard is slightly smaller on your avatar!!

Hehe, yeah I get bored easily. Im more hirsute this time of year. Yeah rob.e, the background is just my wall with one of the strobes uplighting it. :)
I am quite impressed with your beard. However, I have infinitely more hair than you at the minute :p
 Nice shot mate, think that you should have held a reflector between your toes to introduce a tad more definition to the left side of the image though :p
Seriously though, nice shot, looking forward to seeing what your flash setup can cope with

I still say your the spit of Chuck Norris :D
Here's Chuck (http://www.chucknorris.com/html/mission.html)
I think you're gonna have fun with that, once the stands turn up.
As moonmike says, the reflector between the toes would have made so much more difference

  Been called worse I suppose
very well taken, I used to use a sb600, use a Metz now, but still sometimes go back to the 600, especially for portraits of children. Great control of the flash, one for the wall I think, or the dartboard for any of your enemies!
Came out really well, Alasdair. Looks like you had taken ages with the setup, so it just goes to show... simple can be good.
(which is good.........as I am simple!!) :D
