Nice shot....looks more like Plitvica than Krk.
regards
I looked at this earlier before Matty posted. I thought it was a beautiful scene but as I often find, I could not see why it was monochrome.
I didn't comment earlier as I thought it was just me and black and white again ;)
I looked at the larger one too. I like the image, just think I'd like it more in colour.
Sorry to take this off-topic, but have you got an example Rob where you think B&W has worked? Maybe we should take this elsewhere rather than ruin Sebs thread, in fact I'll start one just for you Rob! :)
I like it - but then I was brought up on B&W.
Tres joli, Seb, c'est bon.

Contrary to how it seems I don't hate black and white. Some of the stuff in Bachs gallery in B/w looks very good to me. I even like some of DJW's b/w as well.
What I don't get is why things are converted to b/w a lot of the time. I'd guess 1 in 10 that I see in B/W strike me as being the best way to present the image - making it more dramatic or striking... even stark or bleak etc.
So many look like it was done 'because I can'.
It is a matter of taste. I don't have a lot of artist in me so I know what I think bears no relation to the appreciation an artist might have for the same image.
Thank you for your comments
for that image I thing the chaos effect is better in B&W, leaves and water are in the same kind of gray .. in color the balance isnt good at all only green and blue
just my opinion
