this is probably the best set i've seen yet if i'm being honest, the HDR has worked a treat, not too overcooked etc. i've got quite a few of the same shots as you but without the HDR treatment, i may have to give it a try :)

Actually, none of them got me up out of my seat. Sorry.

Except the one of marcel, that got the full mexican wave.:clap: Well the best one I could manage here on my own anyway. ;)

What an excellent set of pictures

Can I ask how many exposures and how many stops apart was most of the images for the HDRs, would like to give this sort of thing a go myself

Thanks for the kind comments everyone :)

All the interior shots were 3 Raws converted to tiffs, under and then overexposed by 1 stop, I tried a few at 2 stops but they ended up looking too false. The exterior shots are all pretty much from 1 Raw, most of them are from 4 or 5 tiffs, underexposed by 2 stop, then 1 stop then the original then overexposed by 1 stop, then a few used the overexposed by 2 stops tiff, not many though as it caused a lot of noise.

To be honest the none 'HDR'/Tonemapped versions of the interior shots are not a lot different, the tonemapping just gives them a 'little bit more'

Sorry for the obvious question but my brain appears to have lost the ability to understand all but the most basic information. :bonk:

Do you mean 1 raw converted to 3 tiffs or 3 raws each converted to tiffs? If the latter why do you not process the raw files direct, is there a trick I'm missing here:thinking: as I just open the 3 raws in Photomatix and process from there.

Thanks and I am really enjoying your shots recently excellent work:thumbs:

interiors are 3 raws converted to tiffs :) The only reason I do it is that photoshops Raw processing seems to be better than photomatix, I always find more noise and just not such good results sticking the raws straight into photomatix. Mr 'Pete Carr HDR' taught me that one ;)

Use photoshop to do the multi 'exposures' from 1 raw file too, confuses me less just to have to use one tool really :p

Thanks JL, it certainly seems to work, will try it next time I have a crack at HDR.

As expected, the HDR shots do nothing for me, the process seems to take the soul out of the subject.

All are excellent compositions, with the second coming closest to having a comfortable 'feel' to it, also like the ghost Marcel image, cleverly done :)
