Ok, I did it as a project in Photoshop after seeing something similar in the wallpaper thread further down the forum :D

I love these - I also think they look better when there's a small window up on the screen to reinforce the fact it's a usable screen still.
:) need to sort out your colour balance though!
Thanks everyone, it kept me out of trouble for a bit if nothing else ! :D

I did try having the start menu open but didn't like it. Never thought of having a window open though, good suggestion if I ever do something similar again, thanks

Like it!
Thanks all, I have to say that I can't remember the last time I put so much work into an image so the encouragement is really appreciated :thumbs:
and I just  the desk lamp ...
Is that because of the classic design, the craftsmanship that's gone into it's production, the nice gentle light that it produces, it's functionality ? .......................... Or because it's green ! :D:lol:

That's really good and it works well with the objects you chose to put in it.
Nicely done.
How about one of the laptop showing a picture of you taking a picture of the laptop showing a picture of you taking ........
I need sleep
Thanks Pete

I had a go at this same shot, I had the desktop properties box up with the preview of the desktop picture inside it.
mackers definitly works better than mine does though
Thanks again everyone, think I've started a craze here !:lol:

I did try a version using Basegreens suggestion of having a couple of windows open too:

Not sure if it looks too cluttered now though !
Anyway, it's been a laugh but I'm definitely leaving it alone now, maybe ............ :D

wahay!!! Now that is bloody BRILLIANT, I totally ADORE that shot, just WOW! I don't usually get this excited about shots, but this one realllllllly hits the spot, such great creativity.....ingenous. Should be put recorded into all photography books as an excellent example of sheer 'creativity!' and beauty!.....smashing! lol xxxxx
Go on then, how is it done? Great shot showing originality, creativity and obviously very good PS skills....

To be honest mate, I can't remember all of the steps as I was figuring things out as I went ! It basically consisted of adjusting the opacity of several layers, the eraser tool, clone tool, paintbrush, filter effects and the usual curves, saturation, sharpness and other such tweaks.
I can try and do a little tutorial if you want ...........
