Got this mad idea that shining a blue led on this chrome "leaping cat" would yield some nice results. I'm not 100% sure this works, but whats your thoughts ?

I sort of like it, but don't at the same time  It might be the highlights which spoil it for me, not sure really.

The concepts good though

Never one to disappoint my son ... ;) ... for long ...

Now that's MY kind of cat ... ... but you could have buffed it up a bit first BB ... :naughty:

Of course ... :suspect: ... how much better would it have been with Green LED lighting ... :D

:p

Highlights spoil it for me unfortunately, must've been difficult controlling the exposure values for this shot so I do think you've done well to get the shot - just doesn't quite work for me.

Looks like it.

Try light painting the figure rather than the light source from one position. Just an idea.

I like it, though as already mentioned the highlights spoil it a bit, but lightpainting could solve that issue though. Have another go !

Good call !! Will try that later .

Its not a great shot I'll admit, more just a bit of fun, but I feel with all the positive comments here, it is the groundwork for a good image !!

Cheers peeps !!

you could also try diffusing the blue light, to give more even lighting. It's looks like a good idea worth sticking at till you nail the shot.
