Had a walk this morning round Hardcastle Crags in West Yorkshire. Rather like this one but, as usual, I'm up for criticism. Thanks for viewing.

I really like this, gorgeous colours and light. Interesting crop too.

Got a few nice colours in there but there isn't really a focal point leaping out at me... dunno I guess I'm not really into 'mass foliage' shots but each to their own. :thumb:

Lovely tonality but I feel the image is dissected by that large horizontal branch.

I don't notice things like that until someone mentions them, then they annoy me....I still love this image, the detail is excellent :)

Thanks for the comments-

Marianne - no crop, image as is.

Gfk - focal point, agreed, it was the mossy branch I was aiming for but with the 50mm you're stuck Might try a crop.

chuckles - would have been nice if the branch wasn't there.

I find that saying the word 'crop' can be annoying to the photographer, the words I should have used are 'I like the way you have filled the frame' ;) which is what I usually say anyway lol

the branch is a pain, i cant help feeling that i want to zoom out and get more of the area around the picture,

not for me, I like the arty aproach and the light on the gorgeous colours ;)

Different and interesting, but needs a tad more colour imo. :)

Plenty enough colour for me and the saturation is spot on - just can't get past the branch!

Its good technically, but artistically not my Cup of tea, I'm not sure what I should be looking at, or what the photo is saying to me. :)

Certainly a variety of comments and, to be honest, I think everyone has chipped in with something worthwhile to say. I don't know why I didn't notice it at the time but the branch should definitely not be there.

Shame about that branch, but hey it happens! ;) It's surprising what you can miss when you're wrapped up in taking the shot.
