Might just be my end but I get a broken link if I click on Forums on the Home Page. Clicking anywhere else gets me in OK.
regards

thanks for reporting it though!

its fine here too :)
I reported something similar a few days ago. It did not work when not logged in. Log in, log out and it still works - once you have seen it working it carries on working.
the actual url off the link is correct, there are no odd characters in it like there was in the old version, which had a ? in it!
I think its a cookie thing, once they have been cleared or if it works it then will work ongoing.
Most seem not have any issues and so far we have only had the two reports above of the issue.
OK I can now confirm that the forums link on the home page DOES NOT work for a new visitor to the forums.
I have resurrected an old IBM 600e laptop and gone to the home page with it. The forums link at the top goes to page cannot be found.
This is the URL from the laptop :-
http://www.thephotographyforums.com/forums/index.phps=5fa823098d0e4881ce1a386e0859aa3b&
And of course this is the URL I see here on my PC
http://www.thephotographyforums.com/forums/index.php
Oh and I have not logged on with it so if you fix something I can try it again.
And just to keep replying to myself....
I saw something like this before. There is something about IE (and maybe other browsers) that 'fixes' a wrong URL once it knows what it should be. No one could see a picture in someones post on a previous forum except me. I had pasted the URL into a new window and edited it to correct and see the picture. I was surprised when I went back to the original post that the picture showed.
Thanks Robert for the info.
That side of the site is were Matty works his stuff so I will leave it to him to poke around.
Just for added info I am using firefox so if the auto fixing is occuring it also works with FF
RopertP the link you gave is a guest link, (IE not logged in), and I think the reason it doesn't work, is because it has a missing "?", before the "s=", which parses the session ID to the server.
I'll prod matty see if he can see why its missing.
Ok Robert give it a whirl now and see if its still broke
i couldnt recreate the problem at all, so in time honoured fashion ive pulled loads of plugs to see what works and what doesnt....

OK - I'm all working now. That's with cleared cookies and on Firefox. Thanks for looking into it guys.
regards
im hoping Robert will be back in a mo and give that a whirl too
Laptop booting now.... could be a while yet :)
superdooper, the fine traditions of 'pull that bit and see what happens' are still useful then!
