This was taken from another site I use for macro and thought you might like to use it too, it's good for other stuff not just macro. ;)
After joining this forum and seeing many superb shots I was encouraged to try and take better macro shots. One of the main thing for a good macro shot I have found is good light and so I set about making a good cheap diffuser (I'm a bit of a cheapskate if you didn't guess :)
So here is my plan for a next to nothing good diffuser that is really simple to make. The items you need are:
1. A food carton (I'm using a strawberry carton in this demo).
2. 2 rubber bands (Our postman leaves his all over my drive)
3. 1 or 2 sheets of kitchen roll depending on the quality you buy.
4. A pair of scissors.

Cut the base to fit your flash head and make the cut in a H shape so you can make a couple of flaps.

Next fit the base to your flash head with one of the rubber bands

Now fit the paper towel using the other rubber band.

Trim the paper towel and hey presto one free diffuser for better macro shots.

Thanks for looking at this and I hope it helps you in your quest for better photos. The best thing is it's quick, free and easy.
