I have just bought a new 40d and 2 new lenses, quite an investment, whats the best way to insure?
Im off to egypt next week and would sleep easier if covered

This may steer you in the right direction. You have to be very careful who you go with. Check all exclusions. As you would any policy. I stupidly didnt. Managed to change before a claim though.

Try Towergate Bakers or Pavilion. ( Pavilion have just merged with another company, can't remember the name). Do check the terms and Conditions. Both the above seem to have reasonable ones but check yourself. I'm with Pavilion

Both T&C's for both can be downloaded as pdf, so you can check them before you buy. If in doubt talk to the company.

Also check your house insurance , I got my kit covered for an extra £16 :)

Well worth getting it covered on home insurance if you can. However, they will not cover for professional use.

I'm with ING Direct and my equipment is covered for a total of £3000, for accidental damage plus theft etc. in and away from home was only £20 for the year

after much deliberation i have just signed up with photoguard. From reading up on it and checking the policy details i would stear clear of E&L
