Very nice!
The first one definitely makes me feel cold!
The colours in the others are fantastic!
Good work! :)

I attempted to do a similar shot this morning on one of my fence posts, but the frost wasn't thick enough!
I'll be having another crack tomorrow :)
whats the deal with the last one....it looks like the moon is showing through the fence near the bottom. looks kind of strange.

brrrr....excellent work, especially the first two! The fence detail in the second one is superb!
Really like the 1st shot , though find the solid black background too clinical. Would a light texture, noise or gradient work better ?
Going against the flow here but I don't really get Brr,chilly from any of them.
They all seem a bit out of context to know what you are looking at.
First one is lovely and sharp but it could be wood sprayed with white flock and photographed in a studio.
The blue ones just look wet. The 3rd one I'm guessing is muddy ice but its only a guess.
Your pictures are always excellent but I don't feel cold yet :)
Robert, if you don't feel chilly yet, try sitting on this seat
Taken not a million miles away from where Dod lives between Nairn and Inverness today.

Thanks for the comments all :) Bachs, where is that, I recognise the house but can't place it. :Ponders: Nice shot by the way :)

Fixed, ta, must have been light reflecting from the frost, maybe even flare.

That's kinda what I was going for, instead of going for a landscape, which I couldn't find, I went in tight to try to get details. Fair comment on the blue though, they were coloured to try to give a chilly feel, I'm not sure it's right either.
Edit: the third is actually the sun reflecting on an icy puddle, colours pretty much as it was, just saw it on the way home and thought I'd try it.

There isn't much detail in the original, here (http://premium1.uploadit.org/scottydod//post2.jpg). Thought it looked better blacking up the shadows to emphasis the post.

Well that certainly looks cold. If I am looking at the wreckage from an accident (guess it must be as it looks an odd place to abandon an old bike) I hope the rider was OK.

I think it was about 14 miles south of Inverness on the A96.
Sorry for hijacking your thread btw...I was looking for somewhere suitable to post it, saw the thread title and dived in head first, I thought it was a string of photos by different peeps
Robert, the biker was OK or I wouldn't have posted it :embarasse

Love the first one, bitingly sharp and transfers the cold to me.
2nd - Find the magenta light in the top right a bit distracting but a good image.
3rd - 'Fraid this does nothing for me [purley subjective]
4th - Adore the abstract feel to this. What is the oof mesh in the field behind?
Good work, thanks.
I like No1. The black background makes it I think, it almost looks like a 1 bit image - very effective. The others are all good as we've come to expect from you, just not my cuppa. :)

I like No.1 too although I find the barbed wire on the RHS distracting.
Hope you dont mind...

Good edit, although Doddy hasn't ticked his 'Editing OK' box. This is something we're going to have to rigidly enforce shortly, but it's early days and Dod may have not ticked his box simply by omission, and he has asked for suggestions but that doesn't necessarily mean he welcomes hands on editing.
Everyone should give this some serious consideration because shortly we will simply be deleting edited pics where permission isn't given, so tick that box (or not) but give it careful consideration, because we are going to be respecting people's wishes on this whether it's by intent or omission!
My own view is that I never object to criticism of my pics as long as it's not vindictive, and I welcome anyone else's edit of them whether I agree with their version or not. What's the big deal ? - they're only pics - and you might benefit now and again. ;)
Give it some thought anyway. Should you edit other folks pics if you object to your own being edited? - editing is a big part of photography now whether we like it or not, and it would be a brave person who thought they had nothing to learn, but the box is there for a reason - as we grow, the more we have to respect peoples wishes, so make sure yours are properly reflected in that little box on the left. :)

Frosty grass, I'm not sure I like the effect to be honest, it's a little bit messy for me. I prefer the effect in No2

Looks like the brandy had a bigger impact than you thought CT :p (It was ticked, honest boss) Quite happy for any edits, you can get too close to your own shots to miss the obvious flaws.
Bachs, got it now, just right outside Nairn. Drive past it every day
Edit: mfwild, was that just a cut and paste of the wire from the other side of the post, looks very effective
Bachs, that shot would have worked well for the "Broken" Theme
prefer the first Dod, really nice shot that, works well for me, 2 and 4 are also very interesting ideas, different from the norm, not feeling the love for #3 though!
I like the colour and sharpness of 2, 1 is also very good.

I deleted what was there and then cloned in a section from the other side. Putting the thickest part to be next to the post seemed to work the best.
