View Full Version : NIKON D40! Messed up =(
Hey guys,
When I playback pictures, the white bits of my photo are flashing 'black' every second. So lets say I have a picture that is half black and half white, the white bit would be flashing into black intermittently...anyone know why?
Don't panic! Pretty sure it's the camera showing overexposed highlights on your shots. My 5D does this.

Hi
You have the Highlight alert selected on the camera... when you are reviewing your images on the screen it is telling you where the blown highlights are...
Move the "D" pad control either up or down to de-select..
Cheers
Nigel.

It's showing you the highlights. Press up or down on the D pad to flick through the viewing modes - normal, histogram, highlights etc.
he he, thats the preview mode I actually use by default instead of checking the histogram:lol:.
Its a quick and easy check for blown highlights

Hey wolfman - you need to put the kettle on, and curl up with your instruction manual. Half an hour spent checking out your new camera's features and controls will make such a difference to your confidence in taking pics and with a few hours practice you'll be fluent.;)
