Ferrybridge... Eggboro... and Drax cooling towers taken at 8am in near dark this morning from just up the road from my house.. These towers are about 40 miles away as the crow flies so 16-35mm wide angle on my tripod at F16 was in order..:)

hmm....well I felt this looked a tad too blue and I found the wall a bit intrusive in the shot, especially as the title says 'the three towers'. Anyway, I have have a fiddle with it, sharpened it , kept the blue in the sky but taken it out of the snow a bit and then added the 'autumn colours' filter from the Optikverve Lab.

Good morning Marianne.:)
Yes I also had a play with the picture with filters in photoshop but looked at them and decided to leave it alone..;)
TBH I had it looking something like that but thought it had too much tango colour in it.
Some of the kind forumites will be along soon when they get their backsides out of bed to give their views...:D

thats the beauty of photography and also being the photographer, you know what you saw through the lens and know what you wanted to see on the screen. I do love my filters lol
personally I like mariannes crop but prefer the colours of the original I'd have a play too see what I'd do but I'm already late for work lol :exit:
we had that kind of sunrise as well, lovely colours.
I think it needs the wall out as well BB, and possibly crop in tighter so the farm building on the left isn't there. Would also make a great silouhette of one of them with the steam from the chimney against that kind of sky.

Thought we'd been 'nuked' ... mornings just aren't my thing!
Agree about the crop, just think it lacks contrast. Not had time to edit it but we (Marianne) discussed this before I left for work.
I'd post our sunrise this morning in Haddenham, but who wants to see a grey frame?

yep...much better :)
lets not talk about blue snow again!
prefer the last one
Have you tried a pano crop? I think it could work quite well.
I like the colours in Marianne's version and the composition in the second of Buster's shots - dodgy bit of cloning there mate - bottom left.

I love Mariannes version :)
Well I will be the oddball here. I like the first shot busterboy posted! I happen to like the blue tones in the snow. Gives it that chill factor. When you take that away the colours just look flat too me. I think you should just go back and take the shot all over again busterboy, lol. :p
Cheers,
Jules

I thought your last insult was meant for me regarding the Canon "cough" Nikon thing..
Please accept my humble apology..:sadcry:
Marianne

ha ha!!
I'll get to that later...
You do know that Canons are a direct copy of the old Russian Gorki cameras from the 1920's don't you?
And that the CCD's are made from old cathode ray tubes scavenged by Pakistani merchants from surplus WWII Luftwaffe night-fighters?

Always.
Always kick a man when he's down - less distance for your foot to travel, plus, you wouldn't want him to get back up, would you?
Jewel, Babe - it's just a joke. I'm a mean, nasty old man with no friends.
