Number one son!

I took my 11yr old lad down to North Yorkshire yesterday to help look at a new horse. This is a quick shot I got of him sitting on the fence and for once not pulling a face or forcing a smile! Converted to B&W with the OpticVerve pluging.

S'a classy shot isn't it. I like the composition lots, plenty enough setting and yet close in enough for the expression and posture to dominate. The control of the backlighting is bang on too and that plug in has made a fine job of the conversion.

i think this works too. usually i would prefer a sharper image but here the softness works really well; the boy looks relaxed and it has that intimate feel of relationship between the subject and the photographer. iyswim.:)
