View Full Version : The river path
Not much I could have altered regards composition, maybe got down a little lower for less of the overhanging branches. Selective saturation on trunk.......maybe too much.

Ken.
Ken, a cracking shot. Composition works well & the lightness of the distance view draws you in nicely. If being picky I would say the large branch coming from tree at top of shot is distracting...but like I say only if being picky.
Good colour, good comp. Not at all blue!
brilliant shot, makes me want to walk into the picture, love it.

Thanks for the comments guy's. I never considered the branch at the top and was more concerned with the ones down the left and in front of the trunk......debated trying to clone them out......but seemed to much work.
Thanks again.
Ken.
I like it exactly as it is, well done.

this works very well for me...love the way the trunk frames the shot.
Thanks for the comments.
Lovely shot! Is that Knaresborough?
No Rich, It's part of the River Derwent at Shotleybridge.
very nice Ken, a lovely scene.

Excellent shot - the colouring on the foreground trunk is balanced by the trees thorugh the frame of overhanging branches - it all works very well for me anyway !:smilenod:
This is an excellent shot mate, I wouldn't change a thing :)

I can only add whats already been said, tremendous shot.
I like the composition, but as with many of your shots, Ken, a little over-sharpened for my taste.
Thanks for all the positive feedback, just pleased you like it. I spent a lot of time as a kid around this area, so holds a lot of memories. The pic itself has actually turned out a lot better than I had expected and, with the comments received from this and other forums I couldn't be more pleased. Thank You!
a little over-sharpened for my taste.
I really don't think it is sharpening that you have the issue with. I don't do any seperate sharpening myself and all that is applied, is from the TPFaction downloaded from this site. I know I should experiment with USM or Smart sharpen etc. myself, as there is no one size fits all and every picture being different, needs different amounts.....just so much easier for me this way.
But hey I'm happy with 14 out of 15.
Thanks again.
Ken.
I can't believe I missed this earlier, lovely shot Ken, as is normal :)
Yes I like this one as well Ken. It looks like a painted picture. Beautiful
