Photomatix - To Plug in or not Plug in

I've had Photomatix pro for a little while now but realised I've never actually bought it and have just been running the demo.

Had a look on their site and it seems that you can now get a plug in, rather than the program.

Wondering if anyone is using it just as plug in, or is it best just to get the program?

You can download a trial of the plug in to give it a go and see what you think. I tried both and personally the stand alone program.

I gave the plug-in a go but still prefer the stand alone.
