View Full Version : Would like to see...

hi
This is just me thinking out aloud, but would like to know if anyone agrees. I would like to see a section totally dedicated to PS or PSP hints and tips, especially as newcomers (like me) can benefit from this, and the mentors in here we can follow.
It dosen't have to be a massive ' how to' , but just knowing how to access some of the tools can be a major help, as i couldn't find 'clouds' the other day, and searched for ages.
Anyone with a hint or tip could post it, and also (if possible) a list which can be printed out, about using the shortcut method, as this saves loads of time.

Also, i would like a dedicated Competition section, i searched for ages this morning in amongst 'other' items to post my Broken entry, and then again had to search for the link to send my ' Around the House' entry also.

Would like some feedback on this.

I think it's been sorted mate.
Remember it's the hols and even Mods/Site Admins have real lives they have to get involved in from time to time.

at the moment we have a manipulation forum, that is the place for PS and PSP threads, as well as the tutorial sections

Competition subforum is possible, i think it would be an idea to give it a couple of rounds to make sure that the comps are well used first though!

I agree with what was said about the competition forum.

Reason I don't bother with the competitions here is because its too much like hard work searching for threads about them.

I agree, the compeition threads are too hard to find. They should be stickies in the main forum imo. The main forum says this is the home of the competition, and yet the main compo thread is in the 'news' section? :)

Ditto with a dedicated section for the competitions, would be nice to keep all the threads in one place - plus it's a showcase for some of our best efforts :)

Perhaps a subsection for the photo threads and another one purely for the discussion?

Just another vote for this :thumb:

I vote for a ban of all new post indicators, and the "New Posts" link.

My children keep asking my wife who the strange man is in mummys bedroom, sat on the computer...

"And yes, they mean me...lol...saucy beggars"

probably doesnt need a whole section for the comps, but maybe if the threads relating the current comp was made a sticky at the top of one of the sections, until that comp was over would probably make like a lot easier !

Welcome back guys ( those who have a life other than this forum:D )
ok, so lets scrap the idea of a dedicated section to PS etc, how about a section for 'Help Wanted' then, and anyone with the answer can post.

you can post that anywhere you like Steve, not a problem at all

Well, a project I am working on, prompted by my fascination with Podcasts is Photoshop video tutorials.
I've revisited an application I bought some time ago called Camtasia Studio which records the screen and can add voiceovers, transition effects etc etc.

I'm rehashing my personal website and creating a photography site (with no forum I hasten to add!) and will be adding these tutorials to that.

I'm happy to share them here, I may ask you all to evaluate a trial one and have decided on Quicktime format as that is what everyone else seems to be doing, but I can convert them into most formats.

It's a trade off between video viewing size and file size and I'm doing lots of research on the subject before I get stuck in.
