Received my Lowepro 200AW today to which Mrs G said "not another camera bag" managed to squeeze all my kit into it, 40D, 4 lens and even the flash as well, anyway, I went to show it off to Mrs G especially the bit were you slip it around to the front and take the camera out in seconds and what did she have to say..........."oohh lovely does it make a cup of tea" :bang::bang:

Although everything fits nicely if I like the way it handles I can see a 300AW in the not too distant future:D

 Mr LL thinks that all th emoney I spend on gear is his retirement fund.... still, he has another 15 years yet, so I reckon thats a serious amount of lenses and stuff for him to sell for his single room in nursing home :whistling:

Count your bags...then count her shoes! You have many bits of camera equipment...she only has two feet, you do the math:lol:

Eric, your logic is, as always, inescapable.:thumbs:

Ok, I'm gonna be a little serious here for a mo, as we all need things to share with our partners as much as we need to have things which are ours alone.

I'm taking a stab here and could be totally wrong but I always get the feeling that the non snapper partner in these discussions is under the impression that photography is about the kit. If you're not already into photography, then nothing... and I mean NOTHING is more dull than camera kit and bags. It's worse than golf clubs.

If you want to encourage someone to find some passion and joy in photography, then the way in is to remove as much of the kit as possible and place a very simple camera between them and something they love. Then make some prints and be very positive about them. This still might not work but it's a good place to start. :)

I suppose you could always do a nude self portrait of yourself, using your camera, and say to your partner how's that for a good exposure?!!!!

Mr. Janice doesnt have a CLUE when I get something new.... he has no idea I went from a 350d, to a 30D to a 40D !!! :D

To him it is a black canon camera.....end of story!!

My only problem now is that there is a rogue white lens in the bag..................I will just have to keep the bag shut!!

I hear you Galaxy, I often get the eye-rolling and associated "Yes Dear" comments...but to be fair - she does listen when I explain stuff to her and she knows I'm a camera geek but she does like the fact that the camera is close to hand (as long as it's not photos of her! ;) ) when the brat is around! :)

PS - You didn't think too much of the 200AW then galaxy?

i used to have a bag problem too and my partner did notice as I seemed to have one for most 'occasions'. :bat:

It gets worse as it has now developed into a lens for all occasions fetish instead. At least with the lenses, my partner is less of an expert so does not really notice.

lol, ive just gone through the bag thing ( although im still waiting for my new bag to arrive ( has taken 20 days so far) from a forum member.

i have a mini trekker AW but its not as practical as i would like, so ive got a nova5 on the way ( if it ever turns up that is) i just said, well it saves you carrying a spare lens or maybe the flash around with your in your pockets :)

she was quite happy with that

I must be lucky too the wife bought my last camera 400d i just had to buy the lenses and flash and now that i have 3 canon systems she says i should buy a bag to fit all the gear in. another for just 1 camera if we are just walking about and when i'm working a 1 that takes 2 slr's and my lenses as well (I want to change to the backpack system easier when carrying heavy loads)

I wouldn't worry, my Mr S can barely tear his eyes away from the PS2 long enough to admire or comment on my latest camera related purchase. Which is just as well really, sooner or later he's going start asking how much things cost!!!

Of course, it's like compact cameras, the smaller the lens the more expensive it is, that's why all your lenses are big and heavy right?

I must be very, very lucky, cos Mr JG has always encouraged my togging efforts and since he works on the basis of 'the right tool for the job' with his own hobby, I've always got a logical argument :D

Even better, he'd now getting into photography too, so we can 'share' lenses, etc. thus effectively halving the cost of them. .... ok, so I was never great at maths :D

Quite the opposite actually, I had it out today and took a few shots in Newcastle and simply loved the way the bag handled. The only difficulty I had was placing the strap over my shoulder, I kept doing it the wrong way and looked a right one at times and ended up carrying it somewhere quite to work it out:D
Will post the images tomorrow......all 4 of them:lol:
