So I got my D40 last summer and must have taken a couple of thousand shots but only posted one lot on here way back then. They're all just sitting there unprocessed! What I enjoy most is my photography adventures themselves. If I get a good shot that's a bonus in my eyes. I just like being outside with my beloved D40 and my boyfriend, appreciating my surroundings. Anyway my lovely boyfriend (the excpetionally talented Messiah Khan) has challenged me to upload at least one photo a month. So here it goes...round one...THREE photos!

I agree No.1 but........ ive never walked by a lake and seen everything blue. I noticed Alasdairs were blue when he put up the lake shots.

is it actually like that or is it processed?

Thanks very much everyone :D

Janice: yep it was actually blue! Think it was just the combination of the timing, the light etc. I've hardly done any processing at all - I'm very new to Lightroom - this was only my second time using it so I literally just tweaked things a tiny bit)

Prefer your angle on number 1 ;) - but don't tell himself.
Number 2 is really nice as well, the lake shore leading you to the fell and up

Thanks for Sharing :)

I love the first one!! Very serene. (sp?)

Has it been Ps'd or is that straight out of the camera? It would look fantastic on my desktop if it were say 1280 x 1024. :whistling: :D

Terrible, horrendous, excruciating, embarrassing...................................... .................................................. ...........................................calling Messiah Khan lovely, I just can't believe it :)

But the images are something different, especially the first and third, first for the luminous light, and a well proportioned composition, third for the branches-most would have tried to avoid them , but you have intelligently used them as an additional lead-in, and it works a treat.

Good work.

I thought that first pic looked extremely familiar! But you know what.... I think yours is better than MK's ;) hehe
The cloud and slope on the right really add to the scene :)
Looks like such a beautiful area, I really want to visit the lakes again.

Thankyou so much everyone! It is really nice to get such encouraging comments and I really do appreciate it :) I've had Lightroom fear  as I'm not the most IT literate of people but I actually quite enjoyed playing around with it last night. I need to make sure I keep it up now and make the time to do some processing (in amongst yucky essays etc!) Thanks again - you all made me smile today :)

I like the composition on number two aswell, it's just a shame the light wasn't in your favour.

Wow,no 1 is nearly fantastic.
maybe a little cropping of the dark right hand side bit,but otherwise really good.
Other two would be better in better light.
thanks,
